I'm only giving this place 3 stars because the "complimentary salsa" was really good. We stopped in to grab some beers while catching the end of a football game and were told that we HAD to order food. We couldn't just buy drinks because of some sort of "license" issue. Whatever. It's Utah, so I didn't really question it. So we tried to just order another bowl of chips and salsa for $2, but apparently that doesn't count. We had to order a side of guac for $3 instead. I just didn't get it. They also had a terrible beer selection. Not a place for your Apres.

Nice ambience. Kids friendly. Good service. The drink I ordered (jalapeño margarita) was very weak. The soup my wife ordered was weak too. The chicken in the soup was dry. I ordered the $32 filet which was cooked perfectly but again tasteless. The chips and salsa was nice and smoky but tasteless.

Make a reservation here! Our waitress was awesome but the food for the price was not worth it. They give you chips and salsa that taste so blah. I ordered chicken mole and the chicken was way too dry. We only ate here because we were staying at the Sundial Lodge on the resort.

Not bad but basically just a diner. Expensive too but I understand it's a resort so... I guess that's to be expected.

Made reservations for this restaurant as there was an event at the Canyons. Our group ordered well over $100 worth of food, however after an hour we still had no food and our waitress had not checked on us. Two of the meals were simple salads. When we finally waved a waiter down, he was unapologetic and simply stated that food was late because they were busy. It was the 3rd if July, so they should have prepared for the crowd. Nonetheless, only half of the outdoor patio was used meaning they have capacity for a much larger crowd. When we spoke with the manager, he too was unapologetic and actually quite rude. He was angry that we were expressing our frustrations and suggested that we leave. One member of our group is a chef at a well known steak restaurant and he was appalled at the slow pace, lack of apologies, and rudeness from the manager.

Poor service, below average food. Don't expect anything to be reasonable. Just take the shuttle down the mountain and hit up a chain restaurant.

I am basing this review off the one time I ate there. I ordered the turkey, bacon, avocado for just under 15 bucks. The bread was burnt, minimal turkey, made thicker by a third slice of bread in the middle, and a small paste amount of avocado spread into one piece of bread. Save your money and go to subway...

Worst meal I've had in Park City. Awful, slow service. They did not enough menus. Brought us the wrong meal.

Stopped in to refresh after exiting the gondola following the exciting 2200' zip line adventure over a mountain valley at the Canyons. Pleasant hostess seated us inside on this hot June day at a window table viewing the mountain bikers' descent. Glasses of rehydrating water were a godsend for these middle agers (55-65) and they were kept full. Our server, Emily, was delightfully attentive, conversational and upbeat - dare I say perky? I thoroughly enjoyed her recommendation of a Brown ale from Park City Brewery, where she has also worked. Absent her preferred sweet Riesling or Moscato, Tami asked about a suitable white substitute from the wine list. Emily displayed an excellent knowledge of those offered as she described several, indicating rationale for choosing/not choosing, landing on the Torrontes. Not wanting a beverage she wouldn't drink, Tami asked if she could have a taste. Emily responded with a half frown, saying that she would try but that it wasn't always possible. Even so, she returned with an ounce in a snifter. It was as advertised: fruity, light and, though not sweet, with a hint of residual sugar. A full glass followed. Having relaxed, we determined that we really weren't hungry and decided to not order food, instead opting for a second round. Again with Emily's half frown - a moue? Quite endearing actually. She related the Utah liquor law(s) limiting patrons of an establishment with a 'restaurant license' to one drink unless ordering food. Odd, to us as travelers, but upon reflection, we thought it a good idea. Roll out Emily's recommendations: we ordered a half portion of the Beet Hummus with assorted crudités. For $5, it proved to be a generous and well flavored dish. The garlic was roasted rendering it mild enough to complement and not overpower the subtlety of the beet. Scooped up with pita, cucumber, carrot or celery proved to be a most suitable accompaniment with our second drinks. True, we didn't sample much. What we had in a nice casual atmosphere served in a most delightful way was refreshing and satisfying.

This place has great customer service, and great atmosphere. I ordered the Tiramisu and it was alright, too heavy for my taste. The burger however was bomb!!! It was one of the best burgers I have had i totally recommend trying it. Their fries are meh, but the burger wooohoo kills other burgers.

The view was the best thing. We thought the food was mediocre. When we asked the server if there was a specialty brunch item and he responds that the all american breakfast (eggs, meat, potato, toast) is the best, we knew we were in trouble. My lox bagel seemed like a spread from a grocery store, the latte tasted burnt, and potatoes were soggy. My husband did enjoy his benedict which was tasty, and service was good. Not worth it when there are so many good places to eat in Park City.

The service was a little slow. Other than that the Beet Salad with chicken I had was amazing. It was a little pricey w $6 to add chicken but like I said, delicious! I also tried the Prickly Pear Margarita on the rocks and it too was fantastic. The location is right at the bottom of the slopes so very convenient!!

The Red Tailed Grill has changed their menu for the worse! They turned a decent Mexican restaurant into the shabbiest but yet WAY overpriced golf grill menu. What was recently a well rounded family menu with plenty of options for all ages and diets is now a grease pit at offensive prices. I have never fed my daughter so poorly as I was forced to yesterday at Red Tail. I wished badly that I had gotten up and left once seeing the menu as we watched multiple other groups do. One person in our party was served the grossest Ceasar salad one could imagine. Steer clear of this resort trap!!! Many of the items on their online menu were unavailable except for the frozen-to-plate options. I felt so bad for the great staff that had to represent such poor offerings. It is no secret to them or anyone who makes the mistake of dining there that the menu is junk. Yuck!

My friends and I skied down for a late lunch on New Year's Eve. We were seated relatively quickly, and had enough time to see that other people were getting dishes that looked pretty tasty. I ordered the chili and my friends ordered taco salads. I'm not sure what exactly went wrong in the kitchen, but the food we got was laughably subpar. The kitchen ran out of taco shell bowls for the chili, so rather than alert me, I simply got a small ceramic bowl (still $12). It tasted good, we had chips at the table, and it was miles ahead of what my friends got, so I didn't protest too much. The salads were totally unacceptable. The "taco" salads were a plate of lettuce, with a big scoop of sour cream and a little guac. There appeared to be no more than 5 black beans per salad, a few corn kernels, and a few shreds of cheese (but only on one of the salads). Upon expressing our confusion about the lack of "taco," our server brought out a bowl of tortilla strips. A helpful gesture, but nothing was saving those sorry excuses for a meal. We tried to cut our server some slack, because a bad kitchen was not her fault, but the whole experience was massively disappointing. I understand resorts mark up their food no matter how mediocre, but this was pretty bad. I don't know if the kitchen got overwhelmed with the holiday traffic or if this is standard operating procedure, but you're much better served going to The Farm or staying up on the mountain and braving the buffet crowds or finding a yurt.

Really hard to find many worse!!!! Location is great if staying at the Canyons Hostess' terrible Waitress tried, but came up short Food inedible Kitchen out of control and poorly trained Managers answer "we will take care of you" Most items not available on the menu. In the argument for the worst ever!!!!!!!

Food is good here, their calamari are Huge n tasty. Loved their salads. My burito verde with beef has fresh guacamole, wasnt expecting it to b good as i wanted it, since i only buy one restaurant for burito at farmers market of the Grove in LA. Waitress n waiters are friendly here, they make sure u get everything u wanted. Good customer service

Not bad for a restaurant at a ski/snowboard resort. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. A little pricey for drinks and appetizers but not bad overall. The grilled Caesar salad my friend ordered was burned but the guacamole was great as was the taquitos. $11 for what I consider a small margarita was a little much but given the environment I don't hold it against them.

First time in Park City. We were planning to eat at The Farm, but it didn't open until 5pm. So, we chose this restaurant next door instead based on the menu options displayed outside. After we were seated we were handed a different, dinner menu. And while initially told that we couldn't order off of the lunch menu that was on display, drawing us in, a very accommodating server checked with the kitchen and said we could still order from the lunch menu since it was their mistake. In the end, the food was only average and overpriced for what you get ($15 for a small, dry grilled chicken sandwich). I wish we held out and waited for The Farm to open. Although it would have cost us about 20% more, I'm sure the quality would have been well worth it. We'll know better next time.

Friendly staff and attentive waitress. Had a late dinner with no reservations during Sundance Festival.....no problem. Food is good.

The burgers and salads here are great. Really appreciate the butter lettuce used in the salads. Service is quick, and the prices are reasonable considering you are in a Canyons resort restaurant. Great place to grab a beer and a bite after the slopes, while still enjoying the mountain views.

Don't understand the low rating for this place. Located on the second floor of Grand Summit, I came here on a Wed night and got seated right away on the porch. It was really nice weather and they came to get my order promptly. While I was looking at the menu, I kept wondering why the rating was 3 dollar signs... I was expecting to drop 50 bucks for a dinner but instead, I spent about $20 including tip and tax. Since I'm an indecisive person, I narrowed my choices down to 2 menu items and the server helped me decide by giving some insight to the dishes. Speaking of which, their service is top notch as they came to check up on me often and made sure I was a happy camper. I will definitely go here again.

I've been here about 10 times and I've had a great time almost every time. To only be disappointed by bad service and slightly below normal food one time I'd say is pretty fair. That being said a few items that I absolutely enjoy, are the Pork cheek tamales and their baby back ribs. Not huge on any of their appetizers, but their margaritas are flat out the best in town. Be sure to check this place out on a sunny spring afternoon during ski season. I'm pretty sure you will seriously enjoy sitting on their deck. In my opinion it's way better then sitting at the Umbrella Bar.

Staying at the Grand Summit Hotel and decided to pick up some food at the grill to take back to the room to eat. Waited a bit for the hostess to come back and told her that I wanted to order some take out. She ended up telling me that I could eat there but if I ordered it to go it would take a minimum of 30 minutes - I said fine about the wait that I would order then come back. She then proceeded to give me some excuse saying there's not guarantee and it could upwards of hours - I asked what's the difference between take out and eating there - she said "she couldn't explain it" but it messes up the kitchen - total BS in my book. - rude and obviously wanted me to go elsewhere for whatever reason.

Decent. Way too cold for apres ski. The sun goes behind the mountain just as lifts are dropping final passengers at the base. I'm sure its decent the rest of the day.

We asked for mescal, which was on the menu...the bartender looked through all the wines before telling us they were out. During the search, we were looking through the windows into the kitchen and watched at least 8 servers stuffing their face with hamburgers, fries and chips. Then walking out to serve customers. Health department must be lax in PC?

You'll pay a fortune to eat here and the food tastes like it comes frozen from GFS. I had the hamburger and it was way under done and tasted pretty bad. It came with a salad that was the best part of the meal. An American brew is $7. The french fries were HORRID. Skip the guacamole. It is WAY too salty and you'll thirst forever after eating it. Everything in the Canyons is way over priced but the food should be better than this. The bill for a hamburger, enchiladas, nachos(just cheese on chips), and guacamole(and 1 beer and two soda pops) came to 89 dollars.

It replaced "Docs" and what an incredible upgrade it was....from outhouse to PENTHOUSE. Great food and service in a beautifully remodeled old world meets edgy vibe. Service is a 10!

Arrive at hotel , valet park , beautiful lobby . Promising start. Up 2 levels to restaurant , I recommend reservations , it's quite small and I saw people looking for a table told that a one hour wait was required. We were seated quickly , quite near to the entrance . Great view of ' The Beach ' and ' Orange Bubble ' lift. There is a door to the outside patio that was constantly opened making it frequently drafty and cold where we were sitting. Super friendly server but a little casual. Got kids drinks wrong , forgot the homemade potato chips . I ordered a Chicken dish with asparagus and potato, delicious . My wife ordered a steak salad , medium rare . The meat was chewy and closer to raw than medium rare. Kids had cheese quesadillas which were fine . Good selection of drinks , nice ambience but I won't rush back.

So this place opened a few days ago, and it's unreal. The executive chef at the Talisker Group, Gavin Baker, is on site for the first several opening days. He was kind enough to offer up some free appetizers to me and it was a nice touch. The bartender Lawton from Tallahassee was great as well. The food was phenomenal. And I was not alone in that opinion. Observing the crowd, I could hear similar comments from several other diners. The atmosphere is great, which is surprising given the rather pedestrian nature of the hotel in which it is located (The Grand Summit). The White Shrimp Gumbo might as well have been from the Soup Nazi's kitchen (that's a compliment;) and the Grilled Short Rib was succulent. This might be one of the Park City area's newest jewels, and no one knows about it - yet.

I don't understand why the reviews were as good as they were. First off, our party of 10 during the July 3, 2012 festival had a 70% rate of becoming violently ill after dining there with significant gastrointestinal issues that nearly required a trip to the ER. When we notified the restaurant the next afternoon to review what we ate and potentially save other patrons, they said they would look into it, call the department of health and get back to us shortly. Twenty four hours later, no response and who knows how many more victims. Besides the slow service, I encourage you to save your family and friends and avoid this caldron of food poisoning.

A+ for service, drinks, and food! We ate at the Red Tail after a day of skiing in a blizzard. The Red Tail is located at the bottom of the "bubble" lift at the Canyons resort. We had a large group and were quickly seated. The hostess was friendly and funny and made a point to ask to take our wet coats to the front to hang up. Our server was quick to come to the table and had a good spiel about the specials and menu. Our table ordered the Black and Blue margaritas which everyone LOVED. The Tuna margarita (not really tuna - it's agave puree) was good too, but not nearly as good as the black and blue. We shared the hot crab dip and potato skins as appetizers and thought both were very tasty. For entrees the quesadilla carnitas was amazing as was the burger and the special of the day shrimp tacos. We were all happy with the meal and enjoyed watching everyone outside in the blizzard while we sat in the Grill and enjoyed ourselves.

Really, really delicious food in a family friendly environment. Four words: Short ribs pomegranate nachos. Just do it. Trust me on this. I'll be figuring out a way to create is for the rest of my natural born life.

Lovely setting overlooking the slopes -- we were with kids/grandkids and had dinner at the Red Tail after playing mini-golf just across the way. Friendly prompt service; good guacamole and chips. Enjoyed a good dinner of salads and southwestern dishes.

What a great place with an amazing view of the mountain. My family went there for lunch while we were skiing and I was very impressed by the service and the food creativity. Although I must say paying $18 for a burger is a bit absurd I loved every bit of the Southwestern Burger. The thick applewood smoked bacon ontop of some mexican cheese with a big chili pepper grilled and to top it off cheddar jalapeno bun. Epic. Also, I was pretty jacked up about the sweet potato fries which was amazing. My sister had the fish tacos which she said were really good. Our server was great and I really like the chips and salsa. The potato skins for an appetizer were a little different than ordinary with a southwestern twist to them which I really enjoyed. Anytime you can make a great twist to potato skins and a burger I'm loving it. They also knew that we were trying to get back to the slopes ASAP so they put our orders in quickly and there was never a moment where I wasn't stuffing my face with either the chips, skins or burger!!! Always a hit in my book. Definitely Slamming

Refreshing mountain venue after experiencing the I'm so amazing crowd at waldorf astoria. Really enoyed the buffalo pozole and the short rib nachos with pomegranate seeds! Very tasty and great portion sizes. Better choice for a dinner than a lunch.
